    What do you guys think!?!

Register to stop seeing this ad!

I got a buddy that has an old 1988 F-250 4X4 Lariat 7.3L the thing has been sitting in his yard for a few years without moving the body needs some work (new floor and rocker) but the truck only has 18000 miles on it... Yes you read it right it has a 5 speed tranny.

What do you think it might need to get this truck going again dont forget it has not ran for about 3 years.

Here is what I was thinking let me know if I am forgetting something.

Flush tanks and Get fresh fuel + Filter.
New oil Everywhere Tranny, engine, Diff,
    Needs batteries of course.
Brakes are probably rusted on the spot.
    Exhaust is gone.

What else would have to be done or would I need to check.

coolant. the fuel lines/injection system could be pretty gunked up. i'd take them all off and clean them so it's not pushing shit through the injectors.

    should run fine though

Is it possible to have rust in the coolant system like a gas engine? If so the radiator is probably rusted bad. I'm not sure if it will rust or not since there isn't any water in it

Was it set for storage or just parked and nothing done?
Like has been said, flush all fluids, clean all lines, change all filters and crank er up. No need for crazy over-analyzing. You'll have it going in a weekend.
