The 6.7L Scorpion is a work of art, everything about this engine was very well though out and executed. The fact that the intake manifolds are the valve covers and the exhaust manifolds are hidden in the valley of the engine makes perfect sense. This keeps all of the heat producing components of the engine away from the cold air inlets of the engine. I had the pleasure of tearing one down recently to install a set of 100 horse injectors and a compound turbo kit from Industrial Injections. I will be posting a lengthy tech article up on our Alligator Performance Blog soon with step by step instructions and pictures.

This engine is one of the easiest I have ever worked on, which you wouldn't think looking under the hood for the first time. It looks like 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound bag. But with an 8mm socket you can completely disassemble the entire the entire top half of the engine. I will keep you updated on this. Fire a few more questions my way if you have them.

PS, the EGR system is brilliant!

Thanks for that info, Vinny! Good to hear! I hope that Ford has finally found a good platform to settle on for a little while. Who makes this current engine? Navistar? Or is it in-house?

Correct, the engine is made in house by Ford. We have blown a few turbos up at around the 550 horse power mark. But heck, the stock turbo on a 5.9 wont handle that either. We haven't seen any injector issues yet, doesn't mean we wont. But we have installed aftermarket injectors and we are getting ready to install a modified CP4 here in a week or two.

And no, the cab does not have to come off for any of this work! THANK YOU GOD!

I'm not sure how much fact there is to the turbo and injector issues. I was talking to a diesel tech for an equipment rental company we use. They use the psd service trucks

Here is one of many photos I will be adding to this thread. We where doing injectors on a 6.7L Scorpion today at the shop, installing the first set of 100 horse injectors ever made by Industrial Injections.

Notice there are 4 push rods per cylinder, this takes a lot of stress off the rockers but they are awfully thin. Guess we will see how they hold up.

You'll notice if you look close they use head studs and nuts from the factory. Not bolts.
