My 2001 LB7 hazzes at idle like CRAZY! Even with no chip on! Could it be the injectors? nozzles? CP3 pump? what's up? lol

LB7? Haze. Uhhh injectors are #1 suspect. Get your balance rates checked, if you're a member of the DF search lb7 balance rates for acceptable tolerances. I don't have one so I'm not sure but I THINK it's +/- 4 in Park and 5 or 6 in drive, search it for a definite though. Closer to zero the better.

If they are out of spec or even before getting them checked, get a big jug of Diesel Kleen (The size for 250 gallons.) Dump HALF or more into your tank and fill up. Run to near empty and repeat. If you don't have a cracked injector, you may be able to get some more life this way. Check your oil for fuel contamination too. If you're over-full, or you get a "Halo" (dab the dip-stick on a paper towel, if you get a lighter halo around the oil spot there's fuel in your oil.) STOP DRIVING it, you'll wipe your bearings, you need to change the oil and the injectors if that's the case. Good Luck!

This is the best advice I have read here. Good job. You don't see many ppl doing the paper towel test.

It can't be laziness cause it's so easy. I think people just feel they'll be able to easily smell it or see it, and it doesn's show up so easy, and discerning the smell of diesel from combustion blow-by and from flooding the CC aren't easy to pick up if you aren't used to the difference (cause there's not a whole lot). (A gasser is much easier to see/smell raw fuel dumped into crankcase.)

DurtyMax79, how are you making out with your truck?

This sucks bud sorry to hear my truck started hazing a week after I bought it ..But wasn't the end of the world did the work myself saved a pile of money. Just make sure whoever does the work you put a lift pump and a filter kit and water seperater on her or you'll have to do it again soon ....Cause all it takes is the equivalent to the ink on a ball point pen of water to screw up your injectors and it seems there is alot more water in diesels now a days... so good luck bud if yo have any ??'s I'd be happy to help

Yes, better filtration for ANY year is a great idea, and for any brand Diesel, if the stock filter doesn't filter to 2 micron, upgrade. I'm doing ADII as soon as my damn sick money tree will give up a few bucks
